How We Work
The workflow, the toolkit, and the people behind it.
Work directly with Cory
Media and branding are storytelling and communication: images, voices and ideas that help people understand one another. A business has a story, too. For Everscope, this is modern mythology in motion.
Cory guides audiovisual projects from first idea through distribution. His specialties are directing, pre-production and post-production, with production brought together through the Network. Bring a script, interview, promotional piece or unfinished edit to begin the conversation.
Rooted in alternative Appalachia, Everscope is a grassroots conglomerate for a post-studio industry—building a business and a legacy through practical services, original work and independent collaboration.
The workflow
Pre-production
Pre-production comes first—in sequence and in importance. It is easy to shortchange when everyone is eager to start shooting, but planning is one of Cory’s specialties: shaping the story, anticipating the practical demands, and giving the production a direction worth following.
Production
The plan meets the world: a person in front of a camera, a location, a performance, a sound worth capturing. Cory brings the appropriate tools and collaborators together around the project, leaving room for what the moment gives them.
Post-production
This is where the material becomes the piece. Structure, rhythm, image, sound, graphics and revision shape what an audience will understand and feel. Cory works toward a finished whole, keeping the original intention in view as the details change.
Distribution
The work needs to reach people. Everscope prepares it for its intended setting—website, social platform, presentation, screening or campaign—with the versions and supporting materials agreed in the scope. Release is part of the creative conversation from the beginning.
The current arsenal
The toolkit is practical and evolving. We select what suits the work, and identify any additional equipment or expertise before committing to production.
Camera and lighting
A Canon EOS 850D with DJI Ronin-SC stabilization, mobile camera rigs, and compact lighting support interviews, location work, moving shots, and social content.
Sound
A Zoom H4n field recorder, directional microphones, and wireless dialogue tools support interviews, portable recording, voice work, and ambient sound.
Editing and motion
Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects support video editing, audio cleanup and mixing, motion graphics, and finishing.
Design and dimension
Photoshop, Illustrator, and Blender support layered graphics, vector identity, dimensional artwork, and animation, with the treatment developed around the project.
EveGPT and other AI-assisted tools can support research organization, creative options, and repetitive production tasks. People guide the work: Cory reviews the material, makes the creative decisions, and remains responsible for the finished result.
Scale with the Network
Some projects fit a single operator; others benefit from additional camera, sound, design, music, performance, or specialist post-production support. The Network brings independent collaborators into a shared story, with room for the particular judgment and character each person contributes.
Teams are assembled around scope, budget, and availability. Specialist services, additional crew, locations, and rentals are discussed and quoted as needed. As a production grows, Cory’s role can shift toward development, direction, and coordination.
Where the value comes from
A finished piece includes more than the shoot or the edit: preparation, communication, organization, equipment, software, revisions, and delivery all contribute. A lean operation and practical use of owned tools help keep that work accessible.
Planning draws on time and judgment; post-production adds a maintained software environment; production brings hardware, setup, and additional responsibility. Clear scopes make those costs understandable. Each project helps sustain the business and the longer creative legacy taking shape through it. That’s the Ever in Everscope.
